Thanks to the internet, Americans are snarky and cynical regarding just about everything now. Every topic becomes a meme or an internet joke overnight. Let’s pretend you’re a rich NBA owner who just had his heart ripped out by Steph Curry’s long-range 3-pointers. Wouldn’t you like to mourn in solitude? Well, poor Paul Allen became an instant internet meme instead. The internet is ruthless.
But there’s one segment of our society that still seems pretty sacred: the military. Most Americans still pay their respects to servicemen and women, and we honor them with parades, holidays and other activities. Now, if only we could do better with their VA benefits…
Unfortunately, many military personnel return from war with disabilities; this is just a fact of life. But that life doesn’t have to be difficult. If you have a spinal cord injury (SCI) as a result of combat, we’ve got the product for you: Pants Up Easy.
Solving an embarrassing (but all too common) problem
It’s kind of funny now, but Pants Up Easy started as an awkward conversation between friends. Our founder, Douglas Pearson, noticed that his wheelchair-bound buddy Paul always took a long time in the bathroom. What was taking so long? Pulling up his pants! And a brilliant idea was formed.
How does it work?
It’s incredibly simple. Pants Up Easy goes over the top of the toilet tank, with two retractable metal “arms” that stick out. When you’re ready to get off the toilet, you simply throw your own arms over the metal protrusions to provide support. It’s like someone there to hold you up, but without a second person in the restroom. The metal “arms” will rest beneath your armpits, and they’re cushioned to make it more comfortable. You just reach down and pull your pants up. It’s that easy.
Sounds like it. What if I need more help?
Well, we have a portable version of Pants Up Easy, too. This version functions exactly like the bathroom standalone version, except you can take it with you! And unlike our standalone basic product, it does not have to be professionally installed.
