If you take some time to check out our blog, you’ll find plenty of helpful information for wheelchair users and friends of wheelchair users. Adjusting to a life with disabilities is quite a challenge, and our whole mission is to make that life easier. That’s precisely why our company was founded.
You see, our founder Douglas Pearson saw how long his friend Paul took in the restroom. He always wondered why, and after finally asking, he was shocked to discover that Paul was struggling to pull up his pants. Soon, a new idea was formed. What if you could offer wheelchair users a spare set of “arms” to help them out? And Pants Up Easy was born.
Am I strong enough for Pants Up Easy?
One of the tips you’ll find on our blog is to start using some weights for strength training. Having extra arm strength is very helpful when you’re in a wheelchair, since you’ll be relying on those arms heavily. And that might lead you to wonder, do I need extra strength to utilize Pants Up Easy?
A tool to help, not hinder
As I’ve explained, Pants Up Easy aims to make your life easier. So if only the super fit or strong could use it, how helpful could it possibly be? The brilliance of Pants Up Easy lies in its simplicity. You have a spare set of metal “arms” (padded with rubber foam) that you drape your own real arms over, allowing the supports to rest under your armpits. Additionally, the arms can be adjusted to various heights and positions, to ensure maximum comfort and usability.
That sounds good, but how does Pants Up Easy remain stable?
It depends on which of our products you purchase, since we have two freestanding units. The freestanding units come with a portable metal stand which is heavy and sturdy enough to support your weight. Our wall-mounted unit is made to be installed directly to the space behind the toilet, allowing your wall studs to help support you.
